A Photo Project is very simply a theme with an associated charity. Photos are collected on the theme and a book is produced and sold with all profits going to to designated charity.
A Photo Project creates a photography book on a theme with all profits going to an associated charity.
A theme could be pretty much anything. They could be based on origin, places, things, styles or even a single event. It really doesn't matter provided there are good quality images to build a great book.
Have a look at the current projects to get an idea of the sort of things being done.
On 30th June 2005 I uploaded my first photo to Morguefile and started giving away photos for free. In the 4 years that followed, I became a photography addict, buying new cameras, lenses and lots of photography books. I also continued to have a lot of fun giving my photos away for free.
In that time, I have been lucky enough to meet, albeit mostly online, lots of great photographers who are consistently very generous with their time and their work. I've also seen how much people enjoy great photography, particularly in book form.
This convinced me that there is more that can be done and I came up with the idea of The Photo Project.
It couldn't be simpler. I'm sure great photographers will donate great photos. We put together high quality books and sell them will all profits going to charity.
